Erik ten Hag had five strict rules at Man Utd which Wolves players will be forced to follow

Wolves' search for a new manager is rumbling on after a number of contenders reportedly dropped out of the running.

Vitor Pereira was sacked in the wake of the 3-0 defeat against Fulham last weekend and departed with the club yet to earn their first Premier League win of the season, leaving them eight points from safety.

Supporters audibly turned on him after the 3-2 loss to Burnley, with Pereira having to be escorted away in heated post-match scenes, and the job appears to still be a poisoned chalice, such is the current predicament at Molineux.

As recently reported by GIVEMESPORT, Gary O'Neil pulled out of the race despite holding advanced discussions with the hierarchy, leaving Rob Edwards and Erik ten Hag as the two remaining favourites, according to the bookmakers.

Ten Hag's Five Golden Rules

A known disciplinarian, Ten Hag has a track record of rubbing players the wrong way. He infamously fell out with Cristiano Ronaldo during his spell at Manchester United, and also dropped Marcus Rashford after he missed a team meeting.

The 55-year-old's last coaching role came at Bayer Leverkusen, where he was sacked just three games into the season. Having fallen victim to the fastest firing in Bundesliga history, Ten Hag labelled the decision as "unprecedented" and all but confirmed he would stick to his guns by refusing to change his hardline methods.

As a result, he would likely implement his usual five golden rules should he take charge at Wolves.

1. Clamping Down On Dressing Room Leaks

Ten Hag was often irritated by the sheer volume of leaked information, including team news, from inside United's dressing room. As such, he told his players they would be exiled if they were caught out.

2. Punishment For Being Late To Training Or Meetings

As demonstrated in his decision to drop Rashford, the Dutchman does not take kindly to disciplinary breaches, particularly around tardiness before training sessions or team meetings.

3. Eat What The Club Prepares

Despite footballers seemingly preferring to hire their own caterers, Ten Hag banned personal chefs at United and told his squad to eat what was prepared for them by the club. He also overhauled the menu at their Carrington training ground.

4. BMI Checked Monthly

Determined to ensure his players were in the best possible physical condition, Ten Hag monitored their body mass index on a monthly basis. Every member of the squad was also given a custom-made diet plan.

5. Don't Complain To Agents

Ten Hag told his players to report their issues directly to him, and not to their agents, cutting out the middleman.

Should Wolves move for the former Ajax boss and convince him to take the job, Ten Hag would likely set out his ground rules right from the outset, making it unmistakably clear that it is his way or the highway.

Whether that approach would be the catalyst for a turnaround in form in their fight to beat the drop remains to be seen.
