La Liga giants Barcelona have on Wednesday secured for themselves an unwanted piece of club history.
This comes after a hectic start to the Blaugrana’s Champions League clash with Club Brugge.
With 17 minutes on the clock in Belgium, Hansi Flick’s troops found themselves 2-1 down, after Ferran Torres cancelled out Nicolo Tresoldi’s opener, only for Carlos Forbs to put the hosts back in front.
And owing to their early defensive lapses, the Barca of 2025/26 have etched their names into the record books.
As per a report from statisticians Opta:
‘Barcelona have conceded two goals in the first 16 minutes and 35 seconds against Brugge, the first time they have conceded two goals so early in a Champions League match.’

As the half-time whistle approaches, Barcelona now find themselves requiring another trademark Hansi Flick-led comeback to avoid what would be a hugely disappointing defeat on the continent.
