ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — Marvin Mims Jr. practiced for the first time since suffering a concussion on Oct. 26 as the Broncos held a session without pads or helmets in advance of their Thursday Night Football contest against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Mims, cornerback Riley Moss and safeties P.J. Locke and Brandon Jones all practiced. Each of them was listed as not practicing on the estimated injury report the Broncos had to issue Monday per league mandate, despite the team having an off-day following Sunday’s win over the Houston Texans.
With Mims sidelined against Houston, the Broncos were forced to turn to practice-squad player Michael Bandy on punt returns; Bandy muffed a punt in the final minute of the second quarter, leading directly to a Texans field goal four snaps later.
Mims did not practice last week as he began going through the league-mandated post-concussion protocol.
BEYOND MIMS: THREE BRONCOS REMAIN SIDELINED
Three players were not seen in the Pat Bowlen Fieldhouse when the Broncos began their on-field work Tuesday: tight end Nate Adkins, safety J.T. Gray and cornerback Pat Surtain II. Adkins and Surtain sat out the 18-15 triumph Sunday due to knee and pectoral-muscle injuries, respectively. Gray suffered a hamstring injury against the Texans.
Moss and Jones landed on the injury report Monday with ankle and foot issues, respectively. Both appeared to be moving well during individual-period work Tuesday.
