And he needed 29 minutes to get on the score sheet against former employers Borussia Dortmund at the Etihad Stadium on Wednesday night.

The strike was vintage Haaland as he smashed a low cross from the left into the net seven minutes after Phil Foden put Pep Guardiola's men in front.

It's the striker's 18th goal in all competitions for the Citizens this term.

From his 14 matches played, he has only failed to find the back of the net in just two fixtures [defeats to Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa].

Haaland's strike against BVB is the fifth match in a row he has been on target in Europe's premier competition stretching back to last season.

His run started after scoring against Los Blancos in City's 3-2 last-16 first leg defeat.

He has since been amongst the goals against Napoli, Monaco, Villarreal and now Dortmund this campaign.

Haaland's first run in scoring in five successive Champions League matches started at Austrian giants Red Bull Salzburg.

His run lasted for five games - resulting in eight goals between September-November 2019 and a January switch to Signal Iduna Park.

The 2020/21 season saw Haaland bang in ten goals from six games in a row for Dortmund.

And another goal in City's next Champions League outing against Bayer Leverkusen will see him tie his own personal record he achieved with the Black and Yellow.

For Haaland, he now boasts two goals in three games against Dortmund, having also scored when City last hosted the German giants in September 2022.

Victory over Dortmund will see City leapfrog above their opponents in the 36-team table.
