Jacory Croskey-Merritt injury update is unexpected news for Commanders

The Washington Commanders have not had a pleasant season as far as injuries are concerned.

They had an unexpected limited participant in Wednesday's practice, too, in the form of running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt.

The news isn't as bad as initially it would seem, though.

JCM was wearing a black non-contact jersey during Wednesday's action.

The reason? "Croskey-Merritt had dental work done," wrote ESPN's John Keim on X.

There shouldn't be any issues as far as Week 10 availability is concerned for the player they call Bill.

Croskey-Merritt is going to have a big load to carry this week against the Detroit Lions.

The Commanders are without QB Jayden Daniels, who dislocated his elbow on Sunday night. Marcus Mariota will be the starting quarterback.

It's still entirely uncertain whether Terry McLaurin has a chance to get back on the field from the re-aggravation of his quad injury.

The Commanders remain without WR Noah Brown, too.

JCM is the unquestioned starter only because Austin Ekeler sustained a season-ending injury early on, as well.

Croskey-Merritt hasn't done anything exceptional in a while. He ran 12 times for 38 yards against the Seahawks in Week 9.

The Commanders will need more from JCM and his upgraded teeth on Sunday.
