Joe has reached the point that if Bucs Pro Bowl receiver Chris Godwin is ready to play, he will be on a football field just before kickoff.
Until then, let Joe sleep.
Today, Bucs coach Todd Bowles addressed Chris Godwin’s mysterious fibula injury. A little. Bowles doesn’t like talking about player injuries. So Bowles offers up morsels just thick enough to ask more questions.
What’s up with Godwin? Bowles had a vague answer.
> “Everybody is running,” Bowles said.
OK, but what about playing football? Well, Bowles said, running is not playing football.
“It’s just a matter of them getting ready to play,” Bowles said of injured Bucs players running. Not only is Godwin in this boat, so too is Bucky Irving and Haason Reddick.
Running doesn’t mean playing.
So will Godwin, Irving or Reddick be wearing a Bucs uniform and be ready to play on Sunday? To be determined, Bowles said.
