Why Stephen Curry isn't playing for Warriors tonight vs. Kings

The Golden State Warriors’ most recent injury report is far from ideal. In addition to Jimmy Butler (back strain), Brandin Podziemski (wrist), and Draymond Green (ribs) not being 100% healthy, Stephen Curry is also dealing with a setback of his own heading into the franchise’s Wednesday night contest against the Sacramento Kings.

Unlike his teammates, Curry has been ruled out for the intriguing Western Conference match-up.

Why Stephen Curry isn't playing vs. the Kings tonight

Due to an illness, Curry will be unavailable on Wednesday night.

The four-time NBA champion deserves ample credit for helping the Dubs bounce back from their recent two-game losing streak.

While Curry notched 51 combined points in the two losses, he committed five turnovers in each outing as a ball-dominant guard, making it more challenging for the franchise to come out on top.

Impressively, Curry cut down his turnovers against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, as he only surrendered the ball twice and recorded 28 points in Golden State’s much-needed 118-107 win.

Although the Kings are headed in the wrong direction (they boast a 2-5 record) and shouldn’t give Golden State a run for their money with or without Curry, there’s no question that the future Hall of Famer’s gravity and ball-screen brilliance will be sorely missed by a Warriors franchise hoping to improve to 6-3.
