A brace from Phil Foden and goals from Erling Haaland and Rayan Cherki were enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to pick up a valuable three points.
Dortmund had their moments but in the end, Manchester City’s attacking power was too much for the visitors. The City player ratings reflect how dominant City’s attacking players were and the victory will fill Pep Guardiola’s side with confidence for their upcoming Premier League fixture against Liverpool at the Etihad on Sunday.
#### City player ratings
**Gianluigi Donnarumma-7/10:** Made several important saves in a good performance from Donnarumma.
**Matheus Nunes-7/10:** Did his job with minimal fuss. Nunes has become one of Manchester City’s most consistent performers of late which is a credit to him.
**John Stones-7/10:** Made one crucial block and played well over the course of the full 90 minutes.
**Josko Gvardiol-7/10:** Did his job well on the night.
**Nico O’Reilly-7.5/10:** Got forward well and routinely got himself into dangerous positions when his team attacked. Defended well against the dangerous Karim Adeyemi in another good showing from the youngster.
**Nico-8/10:** Another crucial performance from Nico. You can see his confidence growing with every match, and I thought he was superb once again.
**Tijjani Reijnders-7/10:** Did his job in midfield with some quality touches. Needs a goal for his confidence, I feel.
**Savinho-7.5/10:** A much better performance from Savinho. He tormented the Dortmund defence on the right wing, and that performance should fill him with confidence.
**Phil Foden-10/10:** City’s man-of-the-match for me. Grabbed a brace and oozed quality all night.
**Jeremy Doku-8.5/10:** A quality display from Doku. He set up Haaland’s goal and constantly threatened the Dortmund defence. His ability to drift centrally from the left is improving with every game.
**Erling Haaland-8/10**: Another powerful display from Haaland. Scored his obligatory goal, linked up the play well, and his strength and power were on full display throughout the night.
#### Substitutes
**Ruben Dias-6.5/10:** Brought defensive solidity off the bench as Dortmund pushed for a way back into the game.
**Bernardo Silva-6/10:** Some nice touches and calmed his team down after Dortmund’s goal.
**Rayan Cherki-7/10:** Scored a nice goal and one back heel deep in his own half showed his absurd quality and confidence.

**Omar Marmoush-N/A:** Not on long enough to mark.
**Rayan Ait-Nouri-N/A:** Not on long enough to mark.
