All-Pro defensive tackle Quinnen Williams is the latest player to join Matt Eberflus' Dallas Cowboys defense after being traded from the New York Jets.
With the Cowboys needing help stopping the run (among other things), the Williams trade was a blockbuster deal —one that some aren't on board with at all, given Dallas' 3-5-1 record.
Still, what most overlook is that this deal isn't just for 2025; it's with an eye on 2026 and beyond, but that appears lost on some.
As far as the trade itself, Williams, who fronted media at The Star on Wednesday, gave his thoughts on now being a Cowboy.
“Definitely was surprised by it,” Williams said of the trade. “It's unbelievable though, to come to an organization with so much history, so much talent on the team, great ownership, great group of guys in the locker room, and a great head coach. So, I'm super happy to be a part of this. I'm super happy to be a part of this defensive line group that's super loaded and super talented with Kenny Clark and O [Osa Odighizuwa] and Dante Fowler and Coach Aaron [Whitecotton].
"It's unbelievable to go to work with those guys. I'm looking forward to it.”

Williams tasked with defensive turnaround
For those who see Williams as "the" guy to turn this defense around, you are sadly mistaken.
However, Quinnen is a piece Dallas can build around, and with Osa and Clark along the defensive line too, the hope is that this trio can help stop the run, a long-term wart on Dallas' defense.
Williams won't be the saviour, but for a defense that most are in agreement on that needs a complete overhaul, you have to start somewhere, and having someone who can anchor the defense, be stout against the run, and at times, rush the passer, getting an All-Pro is a good place to start.
Don't have expectations too high for Williams and Logan Wilson (other trade via Bengals), though, because we know two players won't fix Dallas' issues.
But one thing is for sure: on trade deadline day, the Cowboys' defense did get better.
