Your Depot After Dark for Nov. 5.

CHARGERS NEW LS

The Steelers will play the Los Angeles Chargers this week. They just beat the Indianapolis Colts, who were the best team in the NFL, but the Chargers are a good team in their own right. They’re currently 6-3 and in second place in their division. However, the Chargers are dealing with a host of different issues that could hold them back, such as injuries along their offensive line.

Also, the Chargers have been dealing with issues at long snapper. Their starter, Josh Harris, has been stuck on injured reserve. They replaced him with Rick Lovato, but he recently retired. Now, they’ve signed Peter Bowden to be their long snapper. He entered the league as an undrafted free agent last year, but he hasn’t seen a ton of actual NFL action. We’ll see how he does against the Steelers.

COLTS WR ON ACRISURE FIELD

Acrisure Stadium’s field received some criticism earlier this season for being difficult to play on. That was very noticeable when the Steelers played the Cleveland Browns in Week 6. Chris Boswell even missed a field goal because the field was so bad. The Steelers’ latest game was played in Pittsburgh, but Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Josh Downs didn’t hate playing on that field.

On his Downs 2 Downs podcast, Downs explained that Acrisure’s field isn’t the best, but it didn’t have an impact on the Colts’ Week 9 game against the Steelers. It didn’t seem like the venue was a problem, so that makes sense. The Colts’ issues were more connected to turnovers.

RAMSEY HAPPY FOR HIGHSMITH

The Steelers’ defense had quite the day against the Indianapolis Colts. It terrorized quarterback Daniel Jones, sacking him five times and forcing him to turn the ball over five times. Alex Highsmith, in particular, had a great game. He posted two sacks, three tackles-for-loss, and a forced fumble. That earned him AFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.

Jalen Ramsey was happy to see his teammate get recognized, too. He took to Twitter to call Highsmith a “big time player.” While Ramsey only joined the Steelers this year, he’s quickly ingratiated himself with the team. He’s becoming a leader in Pittsburgh, and it’s nice to see him happy for other members of his unit.
