Falcons ready for overseas matchup vs. Colts

ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - The Atlanta Falcons are looking to flip the script in Week 10, taking on a tough Colts team as they try to end their three-game skid.

The Falcons (3-5) face the Colts — winners of four of their last five — at Olympic Stadium in Berlin on Sunday morning, with kickoff set for 9:30 a.m. ET.

“We get a chance to go out of the country in Germany and be a part of this football going global, and doing the things they talked about years ago,” Falcons head coach Raheem Morris said. “I look forward to going out there. Everybody’s going to be miserable, but it is what it is man. Let’s go embrace this misery, and lets go enjoy it right.”

The Colts (7-2) are coming in ranked as the No. 1 rushing offense in the league with running back Jonathan Taylor leading the way.

Taylor has 157 carries for 895 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns this season. That’s second overall in the league in carries, first in rushing yards and first in rushing touchdowns.

He also leads the league in total touchdowns with 14.

“He’s a really good back,” Falcons defensive lineman Brandon Dorlus said. “I played him in college a couple times, one time in the Rose Bowl. Everybody’s thinking we can’t stop the run, but we know what we’re doing up front. It looks better.

“The biggest thing is we got to get these guys on third and long. If we get them on third and long and pin our ears back, it’s going to be fun.”

After waiving kicker Parker Romo on Tuesday after he missed the Falcons’ game-tying extra point last week against the Falcons, the team signed veteran kicker Zane Gonzalez the following day.

This is the Falcons’ third kicker this season.

“I’m friends with Koo,” Gonzalez said. “I’m friends with Romo. I know those guys really well, so you’re never rooting for anybody’s downfall or bad situations, but at the end of the day, it’s a business and I’m excited for my opportunity to come in here and perform.”

Atlanta’s offensive line is banged up, with starting guards Matthew Bergeron and Chris Lindstrom each leaving last week’s game against the New England Patriots with injuries.

But the team did sign a familiar face, offensive tackle Andrew Steuber, to the roster. Steuber played in Atlanta’s preseason games in 2024 and was later signed on by the Cincinnati Bengals.
