Dan Burn's stunning header in the 2-0 Champions League win over Athletic Club had pundits and fans purring.
The Newcastle United defender opened the scoring at St James' Park against the Spanish Bilbao side in the 11th minute with a brilliant goal. The Geordie peeled around the back from a set-piece to guide his header into the far corner.
The goal arrived from a perfectly-flighted Kieran Trippier free-kick, while Joelinton and Malick Thiaw helped block off the Athletic defenders.
However, the praise all went to Burn, who not only got great power but also great swerve on his effort. At one point it looked to be going wide, before bending into the net via a kiss off the far post.
It was a stunning header, which got former Newcastle United goalkeeper hailing it as the greates Champions League header of all time and comparing it to a David Beckham free-kick.
"Look at that header," Given enthused in the TNT Sports studio at half-time. "Wow. I was saying backstage, bend it like Burn! Just watch the swazz on this.
"It's an unbelievable header. I don't think you will see a better header ever in the Champions League.
"He has curled it into the corner with his head. And it's then a fantastic celebration."
Alan Shearer was also pictured in the stand, gesturing with his hand to his friend how Burn had curled his header into the far corner. It was a goal the great man himself would have been proud of.
Burn wasn't the only player who was on target with a thumping header, as three minutes after the break Joelinton added a second for Newcastle, powering home after Harvey Barnes' cross.
Burn said: "We had been working on it, we knew we would get a bit of space around the back. Sometimes one in 100 goes in, a bit like the cup final one, but I'll take that. I've been due a goal for a while. At least it was a good header."
Burn didn't last the full 90 minutes, being replaced on 65 minutes by Lewis Hall after appearing to pick up a knock. However the defender should be fit for Sunday's game against Brentford.
