Vladimir Coufal now in superb Bundesliga form after David Moyes targeted bargain Everton reunion

Everton didn’t sign a right-back over the summer, but David Moyes may wish he had reunited with Vladimir Coufal.

David Moyes has concerns up front, but Everton should also be in the market for another right-back.

Jake O’Brien is a centre-back doing a job at right-back, while Seamus Coleman is coming towards the end of his career.

Kenny Tete rejected a move to Everton over the summer, but Moyes also had other options in mind.

Vladimir Coufal in hot form after Everton interest

Everton were linked with Vladimir Coufal over the summer, as the Czech defender departed West Ham United on a free transfer.

Coufal was a star man under Moyes at West Ham, and a reunion at Hill Dickinson Stadium appeared to be in mind.

Everton fans may not have been too excited by the idea of signing a 30-something defender from West Ham, even with his ties to Moyes.

Coufal instead joined Hoffenheim on a free transfer, and the move has worked perfectly for him.

David Moyes may have dropped right-back hint

Everton focused on young players over the summer as Adam Aznou, Thierno Barry, Tyler Dibling and Merlin Rohl arrived.

Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall offer proven Premier League quality, and Moyes may have wanted the same at right-back.
