Paul Scholes in disbelief as Gary Neville shares his latest prediction for Everton vs Fulham

Everton have had a mixed time of it in the Premier League recently and it is clear that Gary Neville is still working the Toffees out.

David Moyes heads into this weekend’s game against Fulham looking for his first win in three games and only his second win since August.

Having made such an impressive start to the 2025/26 campaign, Everton have been somewhat brought back down to earth in recent weeks.

There is one major positive to take from the season, with Iliman Ndiaye taking his Everton form to another level.

Goals are few and far between for the Toffees, but the Senegal international is finding a way to find the back of the net where he can.

With Thierno Barry and Beto failing to impress over recent weeks, it is making it very difficult for fans to predict what to expect in the upcoming games.

And that is a sentiment being shared by Neville ahead of this weekend’s return to the Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Gary Neville not convinced by his own Everton prediction

Moyes knows he needs more from his two strikers having seen Barry squander a golden opportunity to double the advantage on Monday evening.

Everton’s home form at the new stadium has been strong, but they did taste defeat last time out against Tottenham Hotspur.

Speaking on the Stick to Football podcast, Gary Neville has admitted he’s not even convinced by his own prediction for the game against the Cottagers.

“2-1, Everton. Yeah, with no conviction, really, but we’re going for it,” said Neville.

However, Paul Scholes was shocked by this scoreline, and responded: “Everton can’t score.”

After the game against Spurs, Neville admitted Everton did not deserve to lose 3-0 in what was a solid performance.

But goals remain the issue and that is exactly why Scholes responded in the way he did.

A big decision lies ahead for the 62-year-old on Saturday, does he stick with Barry after dragging him off before the hour, or does he revert back to Beto?

Everton usually win before the international break

This will be the final outing before the very last international break of the year, and Everton need to put three points on the board.

Ironically, in the games before the two international breaks this season, Everton have secured victories in both games.

International break Opposition Result

September Wolves (A) 2-3 W

October Crystal Palace (H) 2-1 W

Everton fans are growing frustrated with some of Moyes’ decisions, which will put some pressure on Saturday’s game for the Scot to get things right.

With just five points separating Everton and the bottom three, a victory could go a long way to getting the Toffees back on track.

After all, Everton are targeting a European finish this season.
