Leeds United contracts
There are just a few weeks left till the January transfer window and Leeds United are already monitoring situations involving transfers and contracts. This past summer, the Whites signed 10 new players.
So far, some have had an instant impact on the first team. Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff have been solid signings, bringing some dynamism and drive into the midfield. Gabriel Gudmundsson has also slotted in perfectly at the left back position, replacing Junior Firpo.

Despite the club not investing much in the attack during the transfer window, there have been some bright spots. Noah Okafor has shown signs that he can be a good signing, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been okay so far this season.
With January approaching, the club chiefs have something else to worry about – Leeds United contracts.
The contract situation of every current Leeds United player
The Whites have 25 players under contract in the first team outside the youth players. This season will be crucial for many reasons; if the club gets relegated, they might be forced to sell some players.
If Leeds do stay up, they will have to tie down some players. With the January window around the corner, some players will be allowed to enter pre-contract discussions to leave Elland Road as free agents.
Leeds United expiring contracts
There are four first team players whose contracts run out in the summer.
Illan Meslier, Karl Darlow, Sam Byram and Alex Cairns.
Leeds will have tough decisions to make when it comes to these players.
It is very likely either Byram or Cairns go because they have barely been involved this season. And with the rumours surrounding Illan Meslier, he could leave too. The decision on Karl Darlow however, will be one to monitor.
Potential contract extensions
In 2027, two years from now, some key members of the first team will have their contracts up. Ethan Ampadu, Pascal Struijk, Joel Piroe, Brenden Aaronson, Ilia Gruev and Lukas Nmecha all have close to 18 months left on their deals. Current loan players Joe Gelhardt and Max Wober also see their deals with the club expire that summer.
Leeds will definitely try to tie down Ampadu and Struijk considering their importance to the team. But guys like Piroe, Aaronson, Gruev and Nmecha could be sold before their contracts run out.
Long-term contracts
Jaka Bijol is the first team player with the longest current contract at Elland Road; his deal runs out in 2030. Four years from now, Anton Stach, Noah Okafor, Dan James, Sean Longstaff, Lucas Perri, James Justin, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Sebastiaan Bornauw will be out of contract.
The club did very well to tie down their summer signings to long-term deals. Leeds United players with contracts expiring in 2028 are Wilfried Gnonto, Mateo Joseph, Ao Tanaka, Joe Rodon, Largie Ramazani, Isaac Schmidt, Jayden Bogle, Sam Chambers and Charlie Crew.
