“They’ll try again” – Fresh attempt to sign Liverpool player on way

In May, Il Mattino covered Napoli’s interest in Liverpool’s Federico Chiesa.

Initial contact was made for the winger but a move never materialised. The Italian also rejected a transfer to Turkey late in the summer transfer window.

So far this season, the 28-year-old is yet to start once in the Premier League. That’s despite his tally of two goals and three assists in all competitions.

Napoli are now expected to attempt to sign the Liverpool player again.

Journalist Emanuele Cammaroto spoke to NapoliMagazine about Chiesa. He said the Partenopei hope to convince the player that leaving Liverpool is the right decision.

He said: “We’ll see what the choice will be, but one thing is certain: Napoli will make another attempt for Chiesa.

“They’ll try again and perhaps this time hope to convince him to leave Liverpool. But it’s clear that if someone arrives, someone else will have to leave.”

An exit from Liverpool would almost certainly see Chiesa get more prominence, especially if there is a fixed spot for him in the Napoli side.

Chiesa wants to play for Italy at the World Cup, and minutes are important for him to do so.
