“Almost impossible” – Journalist rules out move for Wolves midfielder

Wolves midfielder André, formerly of Fluminense, has been linked in Brazil with a potential return home. But the rumours appear far from realistic.

Journalist [**Jorge Nicola**](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DhgqXTeX-Dw) reported on his YouTube channel that TV pundit Velloso suggested Palmeiras are monitoring the 24-year-old for a possible move in 2026. According to him, there is already some “buzz” behind the scenes at the São Paulo club about the player.

However, Nicola quickly poured cold water on the idea. He reminded viewers that Wolves only signed André last season for €22m (£18.5m), and his contract runs until June 2029. The midfielder’s current valuation is around €28m (£23.5m) – a figure that, as Nicola pointed out, makes any return to Brazil “almost impossible” under normal circumstances.

The only factor that could alter this scenario would be Wolves’ situation in the Premier League. The team currently sit bottom of the table, and a potential relegation could lead to the sale of some of their most valuable assets.

Even then, Nicola argued, André’s form and 13 Brazil caps make it more likely he would stay in Europe than move back to South America.

The possibility of Palmeiras bringing him home therefore looks extremely slim, unless the player’s circumstances in England change dramatically.
