David Moyes’ interesting managerial record against Marco Silva ahead of Everton vs Fulham

Everton play host to Fulham at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this weekend, and here is David Moyes’ managerial record against Marco Silva.

The Opta Supercomputer fancies Everton to beat Fulham, despite David Moyes’ side winning one of their last eight games in all competitions.

Although, it shouldn’t be too much of a surprise given that the Toffees have a really strong record at the Hill Dickinson Stadium this season, conceding defeat on just one occasion.

Fulham are also struggling in the Premier League this season, and actually sit joint bottom in the away table.

They’re yet to win on the road, and Moyes’ decent record against Silva should give Everton even more confidence.

David Moyes has the edge over Marco Silva

Moyes has faced Silva seven times throughout his career, with the first meeting dating back to May 2017 when Sunderland faced Hull City.

Across the years, Moyes has just edged it, as his side’s have won four, drawn none and lost three to the Portuguese head coach.

That data suggests this weekend’s game is unlikely to be a draw, as clearly their styles have made for open games in the past.

The last meeting between the pair saw the Toffees win 3-1 at Craven Cottage towards the end of last season, with Vitali Mykolenko, Michael Keane and Beto on the scoresheet.

This time around, Everton aren’t in brilliant form, but they still have lots of quality to hurt Fulham, with Jack Grealish, Iliman Ndiaye and even Tyler Dibling, who hasn’t been given a fair chance up to now.

David Moyes has to make wholesale changes vs Fulham

Clearly, there is a pressing need to make changes to the team and freshen things up, as Everton have become stale.

Everton fans were frustrated that Dibling didn’t come off the bench against Sunderland, with Moyes opting for Dwight McNeil instead.

Merlin Rohl didn’t get a single minute either, which is pretty baffling, so those two should be handed a start against Fulham.

Elsewhere, it’d be interesting to see James Garner at right-back, as he could provide a much better attacking threat. That would allow Jake O’Brien to move back into his favoured position as a centre-back.

Whilst he hasn’t looked great, Thierno Barry should be given another start and allowed more than an hour on the pitch to prove himself.

The chopping and changing off the strikers isn’t allowing either of them to get into a rhythm.
