Ferran Jutgla sends classy message about Barcelona before La Liga game

FC Barcelona are set to take on Celta Vigo in La Liga later this weekend. A trip away to the La Liga side is not an easy proposition, and in recent years, Iago Aspas has proved a thorn in the Catalan club’s side.

One [former Barcelona player](https://semprebarca.com/official-barca-b-striker-leaves-barcelona-on-a-permanent-deal/) who plays for Celta is Ferran Jutgla. He was signed in the summer from Club Brugge. Since his move, he has settled in quite well and is in line for a starting berth against his former employers.

Jutgla broke through at Barcelona during Xavi Hernandez’s early days as manager, but he did not get a fair run. He showed flashes of goal-scoring brilliance and has gone on to build a decent career for himself.

In an interview, as quoted by [SPORT](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/jutgla-creo-celebraria-gol-barca-123364761), Jutgla spoke on a host of topics, including whether he would celebrate if he scored against Barcelona. Here is what he had to say:

**“Goals are a reason for joy, but I have enormous respect for Barça, because it was the club that gave me my start. I’ve never been in this situation before, but I don’t think I would celebrate.”**

**“When you score, there’s adrenaline. But I’m very grateful to the clubs that have raised me and given me opportunities. Barça is one of them, and I wouldn’t celebrate out of respect.”**

Jutgla’s words reflect the player he is. His sporting desire to beat Barcelona burns bright, but he also understands the respect he owes the club where he first made a name for himself, and he does not want to celebrate.

The 26-year-old admitted he would have liked a chance at Barcelona and would be keen to prove a point against the Catalan club. He is similar to Ferran Torres in many ways and is a player the defence needs to be wary of.

From a Barcelona perspective, let’s hope the team manages to stop Jutgla or any Celta player from scoring and secure the three points at Balaidos.
