This parting moment from Logan Wilson just made his Cowboys arrival feel bigger

Well, in the aftermath of whatever that was from Jerry Jones on NFL trade deadline day, at least you could say the Dallas Cowboys were anything but ready to lay down and die. Jerry Jones made sure he didn't stay quiet, for better or for worse.

The first trade Jerry made after Dallas' crushing home loss to the Arizona Cardinals happened just hours afterwards as the Cowboys acquired former Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson. Dallas sent over a seventh-round pick in exchange for Wilson, who will likely come in and take the job away from Kenneth Murray.

Before leaving Cincy, though, Wilson made sure to solidify his impact on the very player who took his job with the Bengals, rookie linebacker Barrett Carter. Speaking with reporters after the trade, Carter had this to say about Wilson's exit:

"I went over to him, hugged him, told him I loved him. His phone is always open. He's always a phone call away and he's always going to keep pouring into me. "

Logan Wilson showed Cowboys fans exactly why he was a highly-respected captain in Cincinnati

Carter went on to talk more about their exchange in the training room before Wilson's final departure.

"So, I'm just forever grateful for the bond that we have, the love that we have. He was an essential part of my growth and my development. That's a special guy," the rookie said.

Wilson's play had diminished a bit during his more recent snaps with the Bengals, but his character and leadership still shined bright. From the sounds of it, Wilson took the benching like a pro and continued to do what he could to help the team by way of pouring into his teammates.

Obviously, the Cowboys' defense has been in shambles this season and they are going to need production over anything else. But, at the very least, this locker room just got someone who will help them come together during times of strife.

Will the six-year veteran make an impact on the field and not just with his leadership qualities? Cowboys fans have to hope so, because Jerry essentially told his fan base that he wasn't going to sit back and do nothing. The fans are likely confused after seeing Micah Parsons traded away, only to sacrifice draft capital a couple of months later on deadline day.

Wilson and Quinnen Williams won't replace the production from Parsons, but fans can only look ahead and hope things at least improve.
