Miami-Dade firefighters on Thursday are working to extinguish a large fire at a home believed to belong to Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra.
Miami Herald news partner CBS News Miami says Spoelstra was outside the home as crews fought the flames. Video shows flames engulfing the home at Ponce and Davis roads in South Miami-Dade. A reporter says sections of the home have been destroyed.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue told the Miami Herald that the call came in at 4:36 a.m. as a “structure fire at single-family residence.”
The call was upgraded to a two-alarm fire and more crews arrived, according to fire-rescue
“Due to a partial collapse, units switched to a defensive attack, and are still working to extinguish the fire,” the agency said in an update.
There are no reported injuries.
