Fabrizio Romano says Wolves in talks to appoint new manager amid Teti replacement conundrum

Wolves recently sacked manager Vitor Pereira and are still in the hunt for a new coach, and Fabrizio Romano, writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, has confirmed that they are working on a double appointment. The Midlands club are in talks over appointing a new manager, while they are also working to find a replacement for director of football Domenico Teti.

Pereira was sacked with Wolves sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, with the manager given the boot the day after their loss against Fulham. Things had started to turn toxic at Molineux, with Pereira and players arguing with supporters, and despite signing a new contract recently, the manager was relieved of his duties.

GIVEMESPORT sources recently confirmed that former manager Gary O'Neil had pulled out of the race to return to Molineux, despite Wolves being in advanced talks to appoint him. It was then back to the drawing board for the Wanderers, but they are still without a manager heading into their game against Chelsea this weekend.

Writing in his exclusive GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Romano has confirmed that talks are in process as Wolves look to appoint a replacement for Pereira. The Midlands club are also preparing a new structure after it was confirmed that director of football Teti had also left the club, not long after Pereira's departure.

"Talks are in process, Teti left the club so also director position is another one to cover in order to prepare new structure."

Pereira's position, understandably, became untenable, with Wolves sitting at the bottom of the Premier League table, still searching for their first victory of the campaign. With O'Neil out of the question, it will be interesting to see who Wolves do look to bring in as his replacement in the coming days.

GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs has confirmed that Middlesbrough manager Rob Edwards, who has a release clause in his contract, is another option for the Midlands club as Pereira's replacement. At the time, the club were hoping to line up an appointment before their game against Chelsea, but we're edging closer to the weekend with no new manager in charge as it stands.
