Cleveland Browns Post-Trade Deadline 7-Round 2026 NFL Mock Draft

Round 1, Pick 19 - David Bailey EDGE, Texas Tech

If Cleveland goes WR at the top, they may not want to double up here (though landing Carnell Tate or Makai Lemon in addition to Tyson would not be a bad idea). Offensive line would be ideal, but it's still unclear how that group is going to shake out, and if there will be a day 1 starter available here. Instead, the Browns opt to solve a defensive problem, which is a lack of pass-rush opposite Myles Garrett. The team has filled that role with some veterans such as Olivier Vernon, Jadeveon Clowney, and Za'Darius Smith, but here they land what is hopefully the long-term solution.

Bailey starred at Stanford, generating a pressure rate above 20% in 2023 before transferring to Texas Tech, and he's been even better this year for the ninth-ranked Red Raiders. His pressure rate is over 21% and he leads the country in pressures with 55. He has the highest PFF pass-rush grade on true pass sets and his 21.8% win rate is 0.8% behind Abdul Carter's from last season. Bailey may not be on Carter's level as a prospect, but he does have a similar body type (listed at 6-foot-3 250 pounds) and athletic profile.

Bailey differs in physical build from the sorts of starting EDGEs the Browns have liked in the past, but he's the kind of pass-rushing threat that the defensive coaching staff would need to adapt to.

Round 2, Pick 39 - Caleb Lomu, OT Utah

The Utah offensive tackle duo of Lomu and Spencer Fano haven't taken the next step towards elite status that was expected of them, but even though that hasn't happened, there are still signs of development and reasons why they are considered good prospects. Lomu has a great frame (6-foot-6 308 pounds) with room to add more muscle, which he needs to do. He's an excellent athlete on tape, easily getting depth in his pass sets and showcasing great movement skills on pulls. He allowed a 4% pressure rate last year in his first season as a starter, and has cut that in half in 2025 down to 2%. He's a better pass protector than run blocker right now, but that is something that can be worked on. If Lomu can be an effective pass protector, he could be the team's starting blindside tackle as a rookie.
