Celtics’ Josh Minott Drops Career-High, Gets Praise From Jaylen Brown

The Boston Celtics got to 4-5 on the season on Wednesday with a resounding victory over the Washington Wizards at TD Garden. Jaylen Brown made some Celtics history with 35 points, five rebounds and five assists in just 26 minutes, and Boston’s second-leading scorer on the evening was Josh Minott, who dropped a career-high 21 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals. Minott’s performance was another reminder of how savvy a signing he was by Brad Stevens. Minott’s now averaging 9.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game without playing crazy minutes (22.5 MPG so far). He was praised by teammate Jaylen Brown following the Wizards route. “Josh is huge for us,” Brown said, per CLNS Media. “Just building that chemistry (with him) and helping (to) keep building his confidence (is important) … I think he could be a really good player in this league, and nights like tonight, he showed it.” Story continues below advertisement Minott also spoke to reporters following the game, particularly about Boston’s continual effort against Washington despite leading by a significant margin. Their next three games will be on the road, starting with back-to-back games against the Orlando Magic on Friday and Sunday, following by another date with the Philadelphia 76ers on Tuesday.
