A former Doncaster Rovers footballer is reportedly facing jail in his African home country in a row over £14,000 of unpaid child support payments.
El Hadji Diouf, who starred for Rovers in the early 2010s, has been accused of not paying £14,000 in child maintenance fees to his ex-wife.
The Sun reports that the player, who also starred for Liverpool in the Premier League, has refused to pay £670-a-month child support in his home country of Senegal.
The retired striker, now 44, reportedly failed to appear at a court hearing on Tuesday in Senegal’s capital Dakar.

Former Doncaster Rovers striker El Hadji Diouf is reportedly facing jail in Senegal over unpaid child support totalling £14,000.
After his divorce from Valerie Bishop in 2023, Diouf was ordered to pay her £670 monthly child support for their daughter Keyla, 17, as well as school fees and medical bills.
However, she claims Diouf has failed to pay up since March last year and now owes her around £14,000.
Tough Senegal laws mean a refusal to pay maintenance can result in prison sentences under Article 351 of the West African country’s penal code.
The Sun reported Valerie’s lawyer Mame Adama Gueye as saying: “El Hadji Diouf is fully solvent.
“He has the means to pay, but refuses to do so.
“He leads a comfortable existence and divides his time between Dakar and Saly Portudal.”
Diouf is due back in the high court in Dakar on December 5.
He played 23 times for Rovers after joining the club in November 2011 as part of the Willie McKay “experiment” and won 43 caps for Senegal and was part of the side that beat France 1-0 to reach the last eight of the World Cup in 2002.
