Jason Kelce didn’t sugarcoat it on Wednesday to torch his division for gathering some of the NFL’s worst defenses. He didn’t mince his words while addressing the fact that three of the four NFC East clubs are getting destroyed week after week.

The Eagles’ defense has been respectable a bit, but the other three franchises are bleeding yards and points at a historically bad clip that’s almost impossible to ignore.
Jason Kelce Blasts NFC East for Having League’s Three Terrible Defenses
Kelce’s comments landed like a haymaker because the terrible numbers of the NFC East back him up. The Cowboys sit 31st in total defense, allowing over 400 yards per game.
The Commanders and Giants aren’t far behind. It’s a brutal reality check for a division that’s supposed to pride itself on physical, smashmouth football.
“NFC East might have three of the worst four or five defenses in the NFL,” Kelce said in the New Heights podcast. “I mean, the Bengals are the only ones competing right now with the Commanders, Cowboys and Giants. Who else is worse on defense? I don’t know. Like, it’s just bad.”
Dallas’ defense surrendered 404.6 yards per game, while owner Jerry Jones watched his high-powered offense get nullified by a unit that can’t get stops during do-or-die moments.
The Washington Commanders have been hemorrhaging over 400 total yards and 30 points per game in their last three contests. The secondary has been a disaster, with cornerbacks becoming unsteady in coverage on every critical down.
The Giants aren’t any better. The Cowboys can at least generate some pass rush, but it doesn’t matter when the secondary gives up explosive plays every week. It remains to be seen if trading Logan Wilson and Quinnen Williams can make anything better or not.
Jason Kelce Defends the Tush Push Against the NFL
Beyond ripping the East’s defensive woes, Kelce spent time defending the signature play he helped perfect during his playing days.
The tush push survived elimination at the NFL owners’ meetings in Minneapolis after a 22-10 vote. The Green Bay Packers pushed hard to outlaw the play, but Kelce and Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie voiced a passionate defense that convinced enough owners to keep it alive for 2025.
In his recent podcast, the former Eagles center explained how the tush push offered players an advantage.
“We’ve got to be able to tush push that thing in,” Kelce said on Wednesday, transcribed by Sportskeeda. “Josh Allen, tush push. Philadelphia Eagles, that’s how we score every time we get to the 1-yard line.”
Jason Kelce will be going to the NFL owners meeting to answer any questions about the Tush Push to prevent it from getting banned

He addressed Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes, though that detail because he thinks his brother’s team is missing out on something huge for not using the trick.
Kelce even called the tush push a “cheat code” and urged Andy Reid to install it in the system immediately. He’s frustrated that the league’s most successful franchise hasn’t adopted a technique he knows can be unstoppable when executed properly.
