CLEVELAND, Ohio — When the Browns benched Joe Flacco just four weeks into the season, few anticipated the cascading effect it would have on the entire offense. In the latest episode of Orange and Brown Talk, host Dan Labbe and beat reporters Mary Kay Cabot and Ashley Bastock addressed the elephant in the room — how quarterback instability has potentially sabotaged Cleveland’s passing attack.
“There has to be an acknowledgment internally that, like, we had a veteran quarterback here. The guy who won (the competition) got traded after four weeks. That has to matter a little bit in this pass-catching corps,” Labbe stated firmly. “(The Browns) threw a third-round rookie out there and a lot earlier than (they) expected to, and that has to impact the pass catchers.”
