Callahan became an Eagles Season Ticket Member following his time in the Navy. He attended the first three Eagles Super Bowl appearances and has been a regular tailgater since the team moved to Lincoln Financial Field.
During the 2004 season, Callahan and his crew took their tailgating gear to an away game in Cleveland. There was a group next to them tailgating with an RV, and Callahan and Co. made them cheesesteaks in exchange for access to the RV restroom. From there, the Eagle Mobile was born.
Callahan's tailgate bought an RV that he called "an old beater," and once that fell apart in 2012, they decided to splurge for the Eagle Mobile II, which is in the [Tailgating Hall of Fame](https://tailgatinghalloffame.com/tailgate-teams/philadelphia-eagles-eagle-mobile-ii). His tailgate is open to everyone from locals to visiting fans, and Callahan donates all the food and drinks for his group.
All of this happens right alongside his fully wrapped RV. One side features Super Bowl LII: Graham's strip sack, Zach Ertz's game-winning touchdown, the Philly Special, Jason Kelce in his Mummer's outfit, and Lane Johnson wearing the dog mask. The other pays homage to Super Bowl LIX: Jalen Hurts smiling at the Lombari Trophy, Cooper DeJean's pick-six, and The Dagger to DeVonta Smith, who is Callahan's "guy."
Callahan, who just turned 79, has seen a lot of Eagles football in his lifetime. His first favorite player was Pete Pihos, then Tommy McDonald, followed by Pete Retzlaff. Callahan also shouted out Donovan McNabb, Terrell Owens, LeSean McCoy, and Brian Westbrook, but said Smith is his favorite in this era of Eagles football, calling him pound-for-pound the toughest player in the league.
In addition to his fandom, Callahan is a huge supporter of the Eagles Autism Foundation. He has held giveaways at his tailgates with the proceeds going to EAF and is constantly involved with the organization. Callahan is also one of the top donors for the Eagles Autism Challenge, contributing more than $213,000 since 2019, and he is a co-captain of Team STM, which has raised more than $400,000 in that same timeframe.
He's a true life-long Birds fan who embodies being an Eagle at all times. Now, he's THE representative of Eagles fans for 2025.
"It's kind of a culmination of my fanhood," he said. "It's a very humbling experience, to be honest with you, and it's something that I hope I can represent the Eagles well in the next year as we go through this process of being NFL Fan of the Year and into the Super Bowl."
