Scott Parker hopes to have Hjalmar Ekdal available for Burnley’s big six-pointer against his former side West Ham despite the defender suffering a “nasty” cut above his eye.Read MoreBurnley's Josh Laurent has no interest in downplaying significance of West Ham g...The 27-year-old was given a black eye following a nasty aerial collision in training and a cut above his eye that required stitches.Parker, however, hopes the swelling reduces in time and the Swedish defender will be fine for Saturday’s trip to the capital.Providing an injury update, the Clarets boss said: “There’s no new injuries.“We had a little incident yesterday [Wednesday] with Hjalmar, but he should be fine. He just got a bit of a black eye in training, but other than that everyone is fit.”When asked how Ekdal suffered the freak incident, Parker added: “He wasn’t boxing, no!“It was a defensive drill. We were doing some defensive unit work where crosses are coming in and you obviously have to attack the ball and there are attackers coming in as well.
