In a terrifying scene, Miami Heat head coach Erik Spoelstra could do nothing but look on overnight as a fire ripped through his home on early Thursday morning.

Thankfully, Spoelstra, who had been coaching the Heat in Denver on Wednesday night, was not home when the fire began, and no injuries were reported. Fire officials said “the home was unoccupied” when the blaze broke out around 4:30 a.m., according to a report from Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press.

Investigators are already working to determine the cause of the blaze. However, such investigations can often take several weeks. Spoelstra arrived at the home shortly after the Heat team plane landed back in Miami.

However, by that point, several fire crews were already working to try to contain the blaze. A video posted on X showed Spoelstra circling the home, often appearing to look on in disbelief.
