Tributes have poured in from Dallas Cowboys players after it was announced their teammate, pass rusher Marshawn Kneeland, had died at the age of 24.

On Thursday, a statement from the Cowboys confirmed that Kneeland, a second-round pick by Dallas from the 2024 NFL Draft, had passed away. "It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning. Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization," read the statement.

"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family." Following the news of Kneeland passing, teammates of his, including former Cowboys star Micah Parsons, have poured in.

Posting on Instagram after hearing the news, Parsons wrote: "I'm sorry lil brother. I hope you find peace." Linebacker Kenneth Murray also paid tribute to Kneeland.

"Fly high brother," wrote the Cowboys linebacker on Instagram.

Murray also paid his respects to Kneeland

Cowboys receiver Ryan Flournoy wrote: "Rest up brother Love you." Tight end Jake Ferguson added: "Love you brother."

The shocking news comes just days after Kneeland scored his first NFL touchdown in Dallas' defeat to the Arizona Cardinals. The 24-year-old, who had played in seven of nine games during the 2025 NFL season, recovered a blocked punt in the end zone against Arizona.

A statement from the NFL on Kneeland's passing read: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the passing of Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland. Our thoughts and prayers are with girlfriend Catalina, family, friends and his teammates. We have been in contact with the Cowboys and have offered support and counseling resources."
