Raiders have a Tyler Lockett, Jack Bech WR depth chart decision to make after Jakobi Meyers trade

The Las Vegas Raiders cleared a spot in their wide receiver depth chart by trading Jakobi Meyers to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

They'll quickly have to fill it as they play Thursday night against the Denver Broncos to open up Week 10 just two days after the deal.

Two candidates are obvious for more snaps alongside Tre Tucker: Tyler Lockett and Jack Bech.

Those are two guys at opposite ends of the career spectrum.

Lockett just made his Vegas debut on Sunday after signing as a free agent following his release from the Tennessee Titans.

Bech was a second-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.

If Week 9 is any indication, Lockett has the leg up. He was the only receiver aside from Lockett and Meyers to play offensive snaps, while Bech only appeared on special teams.

But the Raiders are squarely out of the playoff picture, which would point to a situation where playing Bech is much more valuable to their future.

Vegas uses some three-WR sets, so they can share the field at times on Thursday night. Another promising rookie, Dont'e Thornton, could also throw his name into the mix.

Lockett has the long-standing relationships with coach Pete Carroll and QB Geno Smith that could help him in the short term.

But if the Raiders are approaching this right, they'll use the Meyers vacancy to get more looks for their younger players. That's what the season needs to be about at this point.
