James Cook fantasy injury tip: Bills RB news points to Ray Davis waiver wire pickup

James Cook's injury was a bit of a surprise on Wednesday when he didn't participate in Buffalo Bills practice.

It's early enough in the week that it may not wind up being an issue, but Cook's fantasy football managers likely took a moment to pause and worry.

If Cook is out, there's really only one thing to do.

James Cook fantasy injury tip

-----------------------------

Go pick up Ray Davis immediately.

Before there is any more news about Cook, do it. Davis is a must-add for anyone with Cook on their roster.

Davis is also a great add for a team without Cook.

If Cook doesn't play, Davis will take over almost all of his early-down work. That's what happened in 2024 when Cook was out and Davis was just a rookie.

The Bills would likely keep Ty Johnson in his third-down role, and Davis would reprise what Cook does.

If Cook ends up being active, then you don't need Davis, and all's well that ends well.

But if Cook is out, Davis could win you a week, and he'd remain a useful handcuff for anyone with Cook going forward.
