Cristiano Ronaldo backs himself to score 25 Premier League goals

Cristiano Ronaldo has backed himself to score 25 Premier League goals this season if he were still playing for a top team in the division.

During his final full campaign at Old Trafford, the forward netted 24 times in all competitions, and he still believes he could do similar now.

Ronaldo told Piers Morgan Uncensored: “Year by year, year by year, I score more. Even in a bad year, I scored 25 goals. If I play in the Premier League now in a top team, I will score the same.”

During the new 2025/26 season in the Saudi Pro League, Ronaldo has already managed eight goals in seven matches, which is remarkable considering his age.

He is also still leading the line for the Portuguese national team and remains a key player, having netted seven times in his last six appearances.

At the 2026 World Cup, the former Man United star will be hoping to finally lead his nation to glory, when he will have just turned 41.

“No problem. When we used to play, we had a good relationship, not friends like I have with these guys, they come one time per week or two to have dinner with me or lunch.

“But we have a good relationship. In football, I don’t have friends who come to my house for lunch or dinner. When I mean friends, I have a good relationship, but friends, friends for me, it’s a different word for me. But the relationship was good, like Ferdinand was a friend.”
