If there was ever a night that showed how dangerous this Knicks team can be when everything clicks, this was it. OG Anunoby poured in a team-high 25 points, Jalen Brunson added 23, and New York absolutely dismantled the Minnesota Timberwolves 137-114 at Madison Square Garden. It wasn’t just a win – it was a statement.
The Knicks dominated the second half like a team on a mission, outscoring the Wolves 83-56 – their best half of basketball so far this season. Everything that could go right, did. The ball movement was crisp, the shooting was elite, and the rotation felt perfectly in sync. This was the most convincing win of the year, and it came against a Minnesota squad with nearly the same record and playoff ambitions of their own.
Josh Hart came off the bench and made an immediate impact, scoring 18 points while doing all the little things that define his game. Karl-Anthony Towns finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds, contributing in multiple ways against his former team. But it was the depth that really separated the Knicks tonight. The second unit delivered a massive 53 points, providing constant energy and scoring punch every time they hit the floor.
“This was a great win for us. We found a way to continue to win as a team. Tonight was a great night for all of us to focus on the goal at hand and in the end get the win.”
– Karl-Anthony Towns
After trailing 65-63 early in the second half, the Knicks flipped the switch and never looked back. They closed the third quarter with an 8-point lead, then completely exploded in the fourth, dropping 43 points while shooting 17-of-28 from the field. Every shot seemed to fall, every pass found the right man, and every possession felt purposeful. The team buried 19 three-pointers in total, stretching the Wolves’ defense until it snapped.
Minnesota, meanwhile, never found a rhythm in the second half. Julius Randle led them with 32 points, while Anthony Edwards struggled in his return to action, managing just 15. Donte DiVincenzo added 21 points against his old team.
With the win, the Knicks improved to a perfect 5-0 at home, continuing to turn Madison Square Garden into a nightmare for visiting teams. And with four more games coming up on their home floor, there’s a real chance for this group to keep building momentum – and make the rest of the league take notice.
