Harry Maguire names Everton player in his dream five-a-side team

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire has admitted that one Everton player is in his dream five-a-side team.

Everton have some really talented players that a lot of clubs higher up in the Premier League would love to have.

In fact, there has been significant interest in a number of them, as Manchester United have tried to sign Jarrad Branthwaite previously.

There has been some concern around Iliman Ndiaye’s future, as he continues to produce magical performances.

With that said, it’s clear Man United centre-back Harry Maguire really rates another talented Toffees player.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Maguire sat down for an interview with his own sister, Daisy Maguire.

She asked the 32-year-old who would be in his five-a-side team, using players that he’s played alongside.

Maguire replied: “In goal, I would go with my good mate Jordan Pickford, he can bring the banter, wave his arms about and shout at people.

“Cristiano Ronaldo I would go, Bruno Fernandes, John Stones and Harry Kane.”

Maguire and Pickford have played together 48 times on the international stage with England, so clearly they’ve built up a strong relationship.

Back in August 2022, Pickford was asked who his best friend in football was, and he explained why it was Maguire.

“I’ve got a few to be honest, but I’d say Harry Maguire is up there for my best friend yeah. He probably doesn’t know but I used to play against him when we were kids. He used to be the year above for Sheffield United.

“Getting to know him well in the England set-up so yeah. But I’ve got loads, loads of good mates in football, but I’d say Harry.

Jordan Pickford is also close friends with John Stones, so clearly the Everton shot-stopper is a very popular member of the England dressing room.
