Marshawn Kneeland's final Instagram post showed how dedicated he was to his craft.
On Thursday, it was tragically announced Kneeland, who just three days prior had scored a touchdown against the Arizona Cardinals, had passed away at the age of 24. "It is with extreme sadness that the Dallas Cowboys share that Marshawn Kneeland tragically passed away this morning. Marshawn was a beloved teammate and member of our organization," read a statement from the Cowboys confirming the news. It has since been reported TMZ has acquired audio from a police dispatch vehicle discussing Kneeland prior to his death.

"Our thoughts and prayers regarding Marshawn are with his girlfriend Catalina and his family." Tributes have since flooded in following the news, with former Cowboys star Micah Parsons writing on Instagram: "I'm sorry lil brother. I hope you find peace."

A second-round pick by the Cowboys back in 2024, Kneeland had played in seven of nine games this year. Across his 18 career NFL games, he recorded a combined 26 tackles and a sack.
A statement from the NFL on Kneeland's passing read: "We are deeply saddened by the tragic news of the passing of Cowboys' Marshawn Kneeland. Our thoughts and prayers are with girlfriend Catalina, family, friends and his teammates. We have been in contact with the Cowboys and have offered support and counseling resources."
In his final post on Instagram, Kneeland uploaded a series of photos of himself, with some gameday photos alongside some practice pictures.

The tributes paid to him by his Cowboys teammates also show that Kneeland's presence inside Dallas' locker room will be sorely missed. Linebacker Kenneth Murray paid tribute to his late teammate, writing: "Fly high brother."
Cowboys receiver Ryan Flournoy wrote: "Rest up brother Love you." Tight end Jake Ferguson added: "Love you brother."

Kneeland's agent, Jonathan Perzley, also paid tribute to Kneeland, calling him his "dearest friend" in a statement.
"I am shattered to confirm that my client and dearest friend Marshawn Kneeland passed away last night," wrote Perzley.

Murray also paid his respects to Kneeland
"I watched him fight his way from a hopeful kid at Western Michigan with a dream to being a respected professional for the Dallas Cowboys. Marshawn poured his heart into every snap, every practice, and every moment on the field.
"To lose someone with his talent, spirit and goodness is a pain I can hardly put into words. My heart aches for his family, his teammates, and everyone who loved him, and I hope they feel the support of the entire football community during this unimaginable time."
