Calvin Johnson was one of the most physically dominant wide receivers in NFL history for the Detroit Lions.
He spent the majority of his career catching passes from quarterback Matthew Stafford, forming one of the most productive duos the league has seen.
The franchise legend recently raved about head coach Dan Campbell’s impact on the current Lions.
“It’s nothing like having a player-coach. The environment to compete and drive to become the best version of yourself. Not just player but yourself, that’s what Dan is creating there,” Johnson said.

The former NFL tight end has reshaped the culture in Detroit through his approach and consistency.
The Lions faced significant coaching-staff turnover during the offseason, losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson to the Chicago Bears and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn to the New York Jets as they became head coaches themselves.
Teams that lose both coordinators in one offseason typically struggle the following season.
Detroit appeared headed in that direction after a loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 1.
The Lions have since turned things around, heading into their Week 10 game against the Washington Commanders.
Campbell has stayed true to his philosophy throughout the ups and downs.
Detroit continues to rank among the league leaders in fourth-down attempts regardless of game situation or stakes.
Johnson believes the team’s commitment to Campbell’s vision is clear in how they play.
There is no sign that the head coach plans to change that approach moving forward.
