Head coach Sean Dyche seems to have one eye on Sunday’s big Premier League game as Nottingham Forest prepare to face Sturm Graz in the Europa League.
Elliot Anderson is a notable absentee for the Reds at the Merkur Arena. The midfielder has not made the trip to Austria.
Forest do have a number of injury issues but it is understood Anderson is not among them. Instead, he is simply being rested on the back of a hectic programme.
Dyche is, though, without Chris Wood, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Douglas Luiz, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Dilane Bakwa, Angus Gunn and long-term absentee Ola Aina. Striker Igor Jesus is suspended for the Reds’ fourth game of their Europa League campaign.
The Reds have picked up four points from their three European games so far this season, including three from Dyche’s first match in charge. That was a 2-0 triumph over Porto at the City Ground last month in what was the club’s first win in any competition since the opening day of the season.
Since then, they have lost one and drawn one in the Premier League under Dyche. They go into tonight’s game on the back of Saturday’s 2-2 stalemate with Manchester United.

Nottingham Forest continue their UEFA Europa League campaign as they face Sturm Graz on November 6. Fans can watch the game on the TNT Sports Prime Video channel.
With a crucial game at home to Leeds United to come on Sunday, Dyche had hinted changes would be made in Austria. He has made seven in total to his starting XI from the weekend.
John Victor, Morato, Ibrahim Sangare, Ryan Yates, Nicolas Dominguez, James McAtee and Arnaud Kalimuendo come into the line-up. They replace Matz Sels, Murillo, Luiz, Anderson, Dan Ndoye, Hudson-Odoi and the suspended Igor Jesus.
John starts for the first time in goal under Dyche. He will have a back four of Nicolo Savona, Nikola Milenkovic, Morato and Neco Williams ahead of him.
It looks set to be a 4-3-3 system for the Reds, in a tweak to their usual 4-2-3-1 formation. Sangare, Yates and Dominguez will make up the midfield trio. McAtee and Morgan Gibbs-White will provide attacking support for forward Kalimuendo.
Injuries and having an eye on this weekend’s clash have hampered the Reds somewhat. Dyche has named a number of academy products among the substitutes, with the bench made up of Sels, Keehan Willows, Murillo, Ndoye, Willy Boly, Zach Abbott, Archie Whitehall, Kalum Thompson, Jimmy Sinclair and Ben Hammond.
