Wolves youngster told to find minutes – January loan on the table

Wolverhampton Wanderers may send Enso Gonzalez out on loan in January. Reports from Paraguay indicate he needs more regular football to stay in the national team’s plans.

Journalist Christian Martin told Versus Paraguay that Gonzalez now plays with Wolves’ U21s and no longer trains full-time with the first team. The 19-year-old wants to regain form and minutes after a long injury lay-off.

According to Martin, the coaching staff spoke directly with him about the next steps. “They told him: ‘If you want to be considered for the World Cup, you need to play for a strong team and have continuity.’”

That message made clear that Gonzalez must play more or move. If he can’t secure regular games at Molineux before the end of the year, a loan could follow in January, as we reported a few days ago.

The winger joined Wolves from Libertad in 2023 on a six-year deal but featured only once for the senior side due to a cruciate ligament injury. He has since returned to action with the U21s, scoring in a 2-0 win over PSV in the Premier League International Cup.

Wolves still see potential in him, but the next few weeks will decide whether his development continues in England or elsewhere.
