The Buffalo Bills had fans and fantasy football managers in a frenzy on Wednesday after it was discovered that running back James Cook wouldn't practice.
Cook tweaked his ankle during the Week 9 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, but he was able to finish out the game. However, he started off this week as a non-participant, which immediately left his Week 10 status up in the air.
However, there is some very good news to report on Cook on Thursday, as the Bills running back has returned to practice.
Is James Cook practicing Thursday?
Yes, Cook is practicing on Thursday, according to ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg.
"Participating: DE Joey Bosa, RB James Cook, NCB Taron Johnson, DT DaQuan Jones, WR Joshua Palmer, LB Terrel Bernard," the ESPN reported wrote.
Of course, there are no specifics there about Cook being limited or full, but we'll get our answer to that later, and this page will be updated once that becomes available.
However, the simple fact Cook is practicing in any capacity is a great sign for his chances of playing this week. A limited session would give him a good chance to play, while a full session will pretty much guarantee he plays.
Who is James Cook's handcuff?
Just in case Cook sits out, Ray Davis would be the next man up for Buffalo's offense, at least when it comes to ground work.
Davis would cede the vast majority, if not all of the passing-game work to Ty Johnson. That said, Davis would still be the better fantasy play.
