Liverpool trio nominated for Best FIFA Awards 2025

FIFA has announced the nominees for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025, with three Liverpool figures earning well-deserved recognition after a historic season for the Reds.

The Reds were crowned champions of England for the 20th time in 2024/25, with Arne Slot guiding the club to the Premier League title in his first campaign as head coach.

Slot’s side dominated for much of the season, sealing the trophy with four matches to spare after opening up a double-digit lead following the New Year.

That success followed on from the club’s 2019/20 triumph under Jurgen Klopp, which ended a 30-year wait for domestic glory.

Klopp’s all-conquering side had previously added the Premier League crown to their Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup titles, becoming champions of England, Europe, and the world.

Mohamed Salah – Best FIFA Men’s Player Nominee

Mohamed Salah has been nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Player award following a record-breaking campaign.

The Egyptian forward was in sensational form throughout 2024/25, powering Liverpool to their 20th league title with an astonishing 47 goal contributions, 29 goals and 18 assists, equalling a Premier League record.

Salah claimed the division’s Golden Boot and was unsurprisingly named Premier League Player of the Season.

His performances also earned him a place in the CAF Team of the Year 2024 for his outstanding displays with Egypt.

Alisson Becker – Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper Nominee

Alisson Becker has been shortlisted for The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper award after another remarkable year between the posts.

The Brazilian shot-stopper kept nine clean sheets in the Premier League as Liverpool marched to the title, finishing 10 points clear of Arsenal and 13 ahead of Manchester City.

On the international stage, Alisson was equally vital for Brazil’s World Cup qualification, recording shutouts in a 1-0 win over Ecuador in September 2024 and back-to-back clean sheets against Ecuador and Paraguay in June 2025.

Arne Slot – Best FIFA Men’s Coach Nominee

Liverpool manager Arne Slot has been nominated for The Best FIFA Men’s Coach award after making an instant impact at Anfield.

Replacing the iconic Klopp was no easy task, but Slot wasted little time in stamping his authority, guiding the Reds to the top of the table by November and keeping them there until the end of the campaign.

Under his leadership, Liverpool lost just one of their opening 30 league matches, cruising to a historic 20th league title.

His stellar work earned him both the Premier League Manager of the Season and the League Managers’ Association Manager of the Year awards.
