Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (95) celebrates after sacking Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) during the second half of an NFL football game at Huntington Bank Field, Sept. 7, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio.

The other pick that they will have in this year’s draft is the Jacksonville Jaguars first round selection. It isn’t a secret that Cleveland needs to draft a quarterback in this year’s draft. If they decided to pass up on a quarterback once again in the first round, it will be organizational malpractice. Do the Browns need help on the offensive line?

Trevor Sikkema of profootballfocus.com created his latest 2026 NFL mock draft after the NFL trade deadline. Cleveland with the sixth overall pick in this case would select offensive tackle Spencer Fano from the Utah Utes. This would be a major surprise for the Browns because they need to draft a quarterback. Sikkema said about Cleveland drafting an offensive lineman instead of a quarterback sixth overall,

“The 2026 offensive line class feels like a down group, although there will still be plenty of offensive linemen in this mock due to team needs. Fano remains the best of the bunch. The Utah right tackle owns PFF run-blocking and pass-blocking grades above 80.0, with strong performances in every game this season outside of Texas Tech.”

The biggest issue with the Browns offense is the quarterback play and the lack of playmakers on the outside. Cleveland should draft a quarterback and a wide receiver in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft instead of drafting an offensive lineman. There could be a chance that Fano could be gone by the time Cleveland would pick sixth overall if the draft was held today.
