Russell Westbrook provides humble brag after accomplishing historic NBA feat in Kings’ win

Russell Westbrook is playing for his seventh franchise in what is now his 18th NBA season, and he is not done with adding to his list of career accolades.

During the Sacramento Kings’ 121-116 victory last night over the Golden State Warriors, Westbrook posted a triple double of 23 points, 10 assists and a whopping 16 boards, as per NBA.com.

Those 16 rebounds puts Westbrook’s career rebounding tally at 8,734, as per NBAHistory. This means the nine time All Star has now grabbed the most rebounds by a guard in the history of the league, as Westbrook is now nine clear of Jason Kidd’s previous record among guards of 8,725 rebounds.

“I’m the best rebounding guard ever…”

Following the game, the 2017 MVP was also happy to boast about his status as the game’s greatest ever rebounding guard. Respectfully, of course.

“I mean, humbly speaking I’m the best rebounding guard ever,” Westbrook said during his postgame interview. “So, when the ball comes across the rim, I’m (going to) get it.”

The Kings were also without key players such as Domantas Sabonis, Keegan Murray and Zach Lavine during last night’s contest, so Westbrook’s performance was very much needed.

And moving forward, Sacramento can be sure that their team will always be a chance of coming down with the rebound whenever they have Westbrook on the court.
