However, back-to-back defeats to Newcastle United (Carabao Cup) and Chelsea (Premier League) led to a bit of pressure creeping in on Thomas Frank. The Dane desperately wanted to see a reaction from his boys and he got that in midweek. Spurs were too good for FC Copenhagen and could’ve easily scored more on the night.

The goal he scored has drawn comparisons with Gareth Bale’s strike against Inter Milan in the Champions League. The Dutchman has been among Tottenham’s best players since the start of the season and his incredible effort lifted the home crowd.
After the game, Van de Ven, in an exclusive interview with Telecom Asia Sport, confessed Mohammed Kudus is an “unbelievable” player and Tottenham missed him against Copenhagen. The centre-back hopes to have the African attacker available for the weekend’s Premier League showdown against Manchester United.
“Mohammed Kudus is an unbelievable player and we missed him in the game against Copenhagen. Hopefully, he will be fit for us in the weekend against Manchester United. He’s an important player for us and I don’t know the details of his absence, but hopefully he should be back for us.”

Kudus, unlike summer acquisitions Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani, has seamlessly settled in at Tottenham. He has taken no time to become one of the most influential players for Frank’s side, bagging a goal and four assists in 10 league outings. The Ghana star missed the latest Champions League outing with a knock.
The 25-year-old said “he is getting better” when asked about his injury after the game. Having Kudus back in time for the game will be a massive boost for the north Londoners. Man United have been conceding goals in almost every game, and the Spurs attacker, if he becomes fit, could expose their defensive problems further.
