Rob Edwards claps

Edwards is no stranger to life at Molineux after making more than 100 appearances for the club during his playing career. He also worked as the club's under-18 coach. in the early days of his journey into management.

Since then he has managed Forest Green Rovers, Watford and Luton, with whom he earned promotion to the Premier League against the odds, before suffering relegation back to the Championship.

Named as Michael Carrick's replacement at Middlesbrough over the summer, Edwards revealed how he wants his teams to play, which will be music to the ears of the Wolves fans.

Speaking to Middlesbrough's official website after his unveiling, Edwards said: “We want to play with intensity. That’s a non-negotiable.

“We want to win the ball back double quick. We want to be controlling the game but as far away from our goal as possible.

“I want shots, I want goals, I want chances, crosses, action. That’s what I want."

Edwards added: "We want to be aggressive, we want to be exciting, we want to take risks. We want to be brave.

“And we want to get that crowd onside and making a hell of a lot of noise for us. We will reward them with good performances and exciting football."
