Lost in the Forest
This is most certainly an old fashioned six pointer. Leeds are just four points from the relegation zone and their hosts are currently inside it, with only one win all season long - that coming on the opening day.
The Whites however have lost on their last three trips to the City ground, not tasting victory on Nottingham soil since 2017 when goals from Kemar Roofe and Gjanni Alioski secured the points for the away side. Leeds could do with a similar scoreline to that on Sunday, as defeat here would leave them with a real mess to clean up.
Farke to fall at Forest?
As a Premier League manager, you are never far away from the pressure of the sack - a damning possibility for United boss Daniel Farke. The German is top of the list for many as the next to be released from his duties in the top flight, after a dismal result at Brighton last time out.
The trip to Forest on Sunday could well spell the end for the 49- year old, should his team get a negative result. Interestingly enough, former Leeds boss Jesse Marsch lost his job after Leeds’ most recent visit to Forest after a 1-0 defeat in Febuary 2023. Farke will be hoping that the same fate doesn't befall him this weekend. The German will be encouraged by his own personal record against The Trees though, having lost just one of his previous six games against Sunday's opposition.
Aussie rules
Although Leeds’ recent away form might not make for good reading, they will be encouraged about the appointment of Australian referee, Jarred Gillett, to take charge of this match. The 38-year old has been the man in the middle on six previous occasions for the Yorkshire side and The Peacocks have lost just one of those games -away at Arsenal back in August. Leeds do love an Australian, and perhaps the man with the whistle will be kind to the away side on Sunday afternoon, and bring a sprinkle of luck their way, just when they need it most.
