**Fin Herrick has been recalled from his Boreham Wood loan stint, but as to why is the big question.**
Herrick’s loan to Boreham Wood saw the 19-year-old set out to achieve some valuable much much-needed game time, in which his short spell at the club saw him achieve 7 clean sheets in just 10 appearances, conceding just 5 goals.
Yet, despite being set on for a blockbuster season, he was recalled back to West Ham.
Our very own ExWHUEmployee has confirmed that Herrick was called back from loan to cover for third-choice Goalkeeper, Lukasz Fabianski. The Polish shot stopper suffered a back spasm in training last week and had to be carried off the pitch.
It appears to be a rushed, rash decision the club made, and ultimately will be proven to be pointless. Herrick is going ot go from playing week in week out to sitting on the bench or not being used. Why not just use U21 keeper Krisztián Hegyi in the role if needs be.
If perhaps one of Areola and Hermansen got injured as well as Fabianski, it likely would’ve made sense to recall him to have him on the bench for the first team, but seeing as that’s not happened, it was a pointless action.
Fin Herrick will now miss out on valuable minutes because of this action, and it wouldn’t come as a surprise to see Boreham Wood come back in for him in January.
They currently sit second in the National League, whilst Herrick is currently sitting at home, awaiting an opportunity to arise in claret and blue. A crazy decision from Nuno and the club.
