NFL Picks Week 10: Rock Bottom

The New Orleans Saints face the Carolina Panthers on the road this Sunday. To say the outlook for the Saints has become bleak would be a severe understatement. The loss to the Rams in Los Angeles last week was nowhere near surprising, but sheer lack of competitiveness was demoralizing. Honestly, despite the 1-8 record, the Saints haven’t quite hit rock bottom yet, but a decisive loss to a rival that has not had a winning season in eight years would get them there. Let’s take a look at this and all of the exciting Week 10 action in the NFL.

Last week I went 11-3

I told you so: Broncos over Texans!

What do I know: Colts over Steelers?

Thursday, November 6th - Thursday Night Football

Raiders(2-6) at Broncos(7-2)

Denver’s relentless pass-rush will dominate the sluggish Vegas offense, while on the other side, Bo Nix will have a huge night in primetime. Denver wins 32-20.

Pick: Broncos

Sunday, November 9th - Very Early Game

Falcons(3-5) at* Colts(7-2) - Berlin, Germany

Indy suffered a rare and mildly surprising loss last week, but they will find just what they need to bounce right back in Germany, in the form of the Falcons. Indianapolis wins 27-19.

Pick: Colts

Sunday, November 9th - Early Games

Giants(2-7) at Bears(5-3)

Outside of a recent loss at Baltimore, Chicago has been on quite a roll, and that roll will continue against the Giants. Chicago wins 21-12.

Pick: Bears

Jaguars(5-3) at Texans(3-5)

This AFC South rivalry game will come down to the closing moments, where the Jags hit the game-winning field goal. Jacksonville wins 17-16.

Pick: Jaguars

Bills(6-2) at Dolphins(2-7)

Just as surely as the sun sets in the west, the Bills also routinely beat the Dolphins. Buffalo wins 30-19.

Pick: Bills

Ravens(3-5) at Vikings(4-4)

Lamar Jackson is back to form and that’s more than enough to lift Baltimore over Minnesota. Baltimore wins 27-25.

Pick: Ravens

Browns(2-6) at Jets(1-7)

Although these are two of the worst teams in the NFL, neither is the clear-cut worst themselves. As bad as the Jets’ season has been, they’ve only lost two games by double-digits. Now, they’ll earn their second win of the season. New York wins 34-26.

Pick: Jets

Patriots(7-2) at Buccaneers(6-2) - Game of the Week

New England has been (along with Denver) the hottest team in the NFL, with a six-game winning streak, and they now face the Bucs, who has essentially had consecutive bye weeks. This game will come down to the wire, as Tampa scores in the final moments. Tampa Bay wins 24-22.

Pick: Buccaneers

Saints(1-8) at Panthers(5-4)

Carolina has quietly had one of the more surprising seasons in the NFL this year, and they have won four of their last five games, including their most impressive win of the season, last week at Lambeau Field. The degree of difficulty drops dramatically this week against the Saints. The fact that this is an NFC South matchup between familiar rivals is the only thing that keeps this one close. Carolina wins 23-19.

Pick: Panthers

Sunday, November 9th - Late Games

Cardinals(2-6) at Seahawks(6-2)

Klint Kubiak’s offense will prove to much for Arizona in this NFC West matchup. Seattle wins 23-15.

Pick: Seahawks

Rams(6-2) at 49ers(6-3)

After what have essentially been consecutive bye weeks, the Rams now face a worthy opponent, one that has had their number under Kyle Shanahan. This will be an absolute battle between longtime rivals, and the Niners will find a way to win this one at home. San Francisco wins 20-17.

Pick: 49ers

Lions(5-3) at Commanders(3-6)

Without Jayden Daniels, Washington is effectively dead on arrival. Detroit wins 45-7.

Pick: Lions

Sunday Night Football

Steelers(5-3) at Chargers(6-3)

Following their biggest win of the season last week, Pittsburgh continues with another strong win on Sunday Night. Pittsburgh wins 29-26.

Pick: Steelers

Monday, November 10th - Monday Night Football

Eagles(6-2) at Packers(5-2-1)

Ultimately, this NFC showdown will come down to the Philly defense making the stops needed late in the game, handing Green Bay its second straight loss. Philadelphia wins 28-20.

Pick: Eagles
