Newcastle United make £55m decision ahead of Brentford clash on Sunday according to Craig Hope

**Newcastle United travel to Brentford on Sunday for another Premier League clash in front of the Sky Sports cameras with a 2pm kick-off.**

The Magpies had been hoping to finally unleash their £55 million summer signing Yoane Wissa this weekend after a couple of setbacks in his recovery from an injury to his knee on international duty just days after signing for the club.

It would be some sort of delicious irony if Yoane Wissa were to make his debut against the club he left so controversially in the summer.

However, Craig Hope now reports that it will not be the case as the DR Congo's return date has been pushed back yet again.

Soon ... but not too soon

Newcastle won't rush Yoane Wissa back this weekend

--------------------------------------------------

In his [Newcastle Confidential](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-15265157/Newcastle-Confidential-Wissa-return-Botman-contract-Tonali.html) column, Craig Hope has written that Newcastle will not rush Wissa back this weekend and instead expects him to be available shortly after the next international break.

The international break begins after this weekend, so we are getting closer to seeing Yoane Wissa in action. Manchester City is our first opponent following the break, which would be a big test for the 29-year-old.

The good news is that the official line from the club is that there is no injury problem with Wissa now, and he's training well.

We prefer the cautious approach, especially after such a long layoff

--------------------------------------------------------------------

We'd definitely prefer the more cautious approach rather than rushing him back when he's not 100%.

We saw last night how disastrous it can be playing someone who is carrying any type of niggle as Anthony Gordon had to come off in the first half against Athletic Bilbao.

Yoane Wissa is said to be desperate to repay the club for their patience after his injury, so a nice hat-trick against City on the 22nd would be lovely, thanks.
